Prayer Request

Being part of a community is still kind of new for me. I don’t think that we (especially me) have taken full advantage of our brothers and sisters thus far. We have encouraged each other some, and had fellowship with each other a bit, but we have done little praying together. Also, we could do a lot more praying for each other. There are no small prayers. There are no silly prayers. Just like God cares about each little thing that is on our hearts, I want to care about the things that are on your hearts. I want to pray for you all specifically. The more things that you share about your life that I can pray for results in us being a more intimate body of believers. Ultimately, we grow closer to God as well.

I can only ask you to be transparent and forward with your lives if I am doing the same thing. So, the things that I need prayer for are:

A free place to live in Raleigh starting in August (Rick’s uncle may be a possibility so pray for this one specifically).

For me to get into Baptist’s CRNA program so I can live at home.

Pray that I would read the Bible more consistantly (I have been a christian for many years, yet I still lack much discipline regarding the reading of God’s word).

That I would deliberately lead Cassi spiritually, striving to love her as Christ loves the church.

Finally, pray that I would continue to seek holiness in my life. This world does not make it easy for men to pursue holiness, but Christ is winning that battle in me. In fact, take this moment to pray for all of the men in our group. We need God centered leaders in our midst who flee from sin and even the appearance of sin.

I love you all very much and I couldn’t be more excited about serving God with any other group of people. I eagerly await more prayer requests.

Mike, thanks for listing a few of our groups prayer requests. I will definitely be lifting those needs up to our Father.

Thank you for your blog and seeking to be an interceeder and being vulnerable. I think that is all so right. For me . . .
Pray that I would be a good and godly mother to Nolan. I have so much to learn and constantly will need my Father to guide me.
Pray for our finances. We have insurance increases coming up and a lack of a paycheck for a while. We are trusting God with all this. Pray that we continue to do that and that we don’t worry.
That’s all for now. Thanks a ton!

Thanks for stepping out and asking us to step up. I am a big advocate for prayer and I am glad to see God bringing us all closer to Him in many ways. We all need help in a variety of ways so we need to rely on Him.

Well for me: Pray for my neck because it started hurting a couple of days after the wreck. Pray for my finances because the insurance raising is going to be hard but doable. Pray for my guitar students because I just want to be an influence in their lives. It is so hard because they are who I work for. It is hard to serve them other than teaching. Pray for my transition out of the Ridge and into Mladen and Christina’s house. I know that God has a lot in store there and in the Patio as well.

Hey Hal- One thing I forget about it prayer. Once I sit down and pray for others or just myself I realize what I have been missing. But the next day I will take up my time in other worthless ways. The discipline of prayer is a struggle for me but I really do feel like it is important and I take it for granted so many times.

Please pray for me and nursing school this year, and also moving officially out of my home and into an apt. in Greensboro. This is a big transition year for me and I just want to make wise decisions during this time.

And also pray for me and being able to discipline myself in prayer!

I will being praying for you!
    See you soon

Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend. Proverbs 27:17. Thank you for allowing God to win that battle in you and for being willing to share that with others. I am sharper and stronger because of Christ’s work in you. I love you.

    Thanks Hal,

Way to step up. This is something that was way overdue.

    Our prayer requests:

    1. Our finances: as we are dealing with Christina’s career change
    2. Both of our jobs: so I can be a influencer and leader at my job, and Christina to learn all that comes with her new role quickly in order to move up the ranks.
    3. For our prayer life and God time: since everything else seems to be taking away from this
    4. My family and best friend: as I am still witnessing to them

    Thanks a bunch

Hey man thanks for your blog, prayer def. needs to be the backbone of this church if were going to see God do anything. I want us to have such a close community that we naturally are interceding for each other constantly. Two things i really need prayer for is a job, there’s a good chance i can get a job as a security driver, I just really need discernment if this is the right job for me and also I am beginning to raise support for doing college ministry, I think I will have more supporters than originally thought, but pray that i would be able to raise enough to only have to work part-time, thanks man, see u sunday!

Hal, thanks so much for being willing to pray for us. I think Mladen touched on the main ones for our family, but I do have others.

    1. For Jason and Whitney (since they will be moving into our house soon and we are thinking of them as family) that they will be okay recovering from their car wrecks.

    2. That I can pick up more hours at work and eventually be classified as full time. This will release me from the burdens of filing for unemployment every week!

    3. My prayer life. It’s not good. It’s only when I was fasting yesterday that I realized how much I don’t pray. I realized I only prayed and petitioned God when I was hungry. I also need to be in the word more.

    4. My marriage. I want to continue being a great wife to my wonderful husband.

Thanks Hal, you and Cassi are awesome and we love you guys so much.
